Faculty Personnel Services (FPS) facilitates the appointment of foreign nationals to faculty, academic researcher, and, in some cases, EHRA administrative/instructional positions. In addition, FPS provides hiring departments with essential support services related to the hiring of foreign nationals and serves as liaison between the UNCG and such government agencies at the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services office (USCIS).
University hiring departments who anticipate the employment of a foreign national applicant should contact FPS as soon as possible to begin the work authorization sponsorship process.

Services include:
- Advising hiring departments and foreign national faculty, academic researchers, and EHRA administrative/instructional staff on aspects of non-immigrant and immigrant work authorization;
- Preparing work authorization sponsorship documentation, such as applications to obtain, extend, or change non-immigrant work authorization status;
- Preparing and submitting applications for departmental sponsorship of permanent residence for tenure-track faculty positions.
