Look below to learn more about our Peer Mentors for this summer!

Hey! My name is Qorah and I will serve as a Peer Mentor for Spartan StartUp this summer! I am a rising sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (Pre-law) and Communication studies. I am a UNCG Guarantee Scholar and a first-generation college student, who grew up in Delaware. I am passionate about fostering an impactful first-year experience with first-generation college students.

In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, going to church, and watching Netflix. I can’t wait to see you soon!

Hi, my name is Gabriel and I am a rising Junior here at UNCG. I’m currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Media Studies and hope to add a minor in business very soon. I love music and performing either by myself or with my band that plays shows around campus during the school year. I’m also unhealthily addicted to hot wings and am always looking for new anime series to binge watch. I’m excited to meet all of the Spartan StartUp participants this summer, not only so that I can be a mentor, but so that I can learn from you as well. I have a great relationship with a lot of the mentees from last year and hope to build even more this year. Can’t wait to see you guys on campus!

Hello! My name is Maddie and I am super excited to be one of the Peer Mentors for the summer! I am a senior with a psychology and sociology (concentration in criminology) double major and will be graduating in July! After undergrad, I am going into a Clinical Social Work program, which was part of the reason I wanted this opportunity! Working with young adults who are going through big life changing events is one of the areas I am interested in, and one that I hope to have a positive impact on with our new group of students. When I am not working with students, you can usually find me at the library or at Tate Street Coffee (pro tip: coffee helps you survive writing those long papers that are due in 24 hours). I can’t wait to see the students that we have in this cohort, and I hope that this is not only a great experience for me, but for you as well!
