Week of May 15-19, 9am – 4pm daily. *Similar to PowerUp, this weeklong jump start for Online Learning features expertise from across campus. The week is flexible to fit your schedule – from tracks for beginners and not-so-beginners, technology “mini-boot camp”, and dedicated work time. Join the Online Learning Faculty Training working group, the UTLC, and ITS. (Sign-up here) This event is open only to faculty/instructors (of any status or rank) and Teaching Assistants. UNCG staff interested in exploring the benefits of using online teaching strategies are invited to attend a workshop just for you! This day long workshop will feature the basics of putting content online and the strategies for developing online modules (Sign-up here).
Summer Course Writing Incubator:
Week of June 5-9, 1-5pm, Faculty Center. Are you developing a course this summer or tweaking a current course? Join us for a week of dedicated time and space for course development. Come to the Faculty Center and work – we will have snacks and resources available. Additionally, several teaching strategy workshops will be available in the morning that week – from Teaching Large Courses to Developing Rubrics.
***New DATE*** Institute on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Classroom
Friday, August 4, 8:30am-4:30pm in the Faculty Center. Join the UTLC and Sustained Dialogue (http://sustaineddialogue.org/) for a day-long institute regarding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Classroom. This Institute will provide faculty with opportunities to explore topics related to equity in today’s classroom, from inclusive language to handling difficult conversations. Faculty will work with a skilled educator to develop tools and strategies for discussing topics, creating inclusive conversations, understanding aspects of identity, and “navigating classroom dynamics, advising/mentoring, and conflict.” Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
