On May 12, 2017, Anna Poteat will graduate from UNCG with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography. She will also be the first in her family to have earned a college degree.

In her four years here at UNCG, Anna has exemplified what it means to be a dedicated student leader. She has served as the Secretary of Academic Affairs for the Student Government Association, a Consulting Intern at the University Speaking Center, Student Coordinator of Peer Education, Spartan Orientation Coordinator… and the list continues.

It’s no surprise that Anna’s involvement in student leadership has led her to pursue a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration degree at UNCG, which she will begin this fall.

Anna’s “First Generation Story” has recently been featured on the American Association of State Colleges and Universities’ (AASCU) website. You can read her story here.

Congratulations, Anna. We are so very proud of you!
