Responsibilities: Head Volleyball Coach The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a member of the Southern Conference, seeks applicants for a Head Volleyball Coach. Duties include organizing and administering all facets of the program relating to practice organization, game day management and preparation, player evaluation, and recruiting of student-athletes. Responsible for budget preparation, equipment purchases, scheduling, recruiting, travel planning, player development and assist with weekly monitoring of the student-athletes’ academic progress. Also, responsible for the selection, training, evaluating and supervision of assistant coaches. Responsible for the organization and administration of a summer sports camp. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree required, a master’s degree preferred. Prior collegiate playing and/or coaching experience are required. Division I coaching experience is preferred. Knowledge and adherence to compliance with NCAA rules required. The head coach must demonstrate concern for academic pursuits by adherence to department, University and NCAA academic policies, specifically, Academic Progress Rates as defined and calculated by NCAA rules (as defined in the University Head Coaches Policy), as well as the continuation of personal academic goals for each student-athlete. The applicant must possess administrative and organizational skills. Position is 12-months, full-time, non-teaching. Deadline: The deadline for applicants is July 17, 2009 or until position filled.
