Department Chair for Community Practice

The School of Nursing at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking a Chair for the Department of Community Practice Nursing. The Chair reports directly to the Dean of the School of Nursing. The Community Practice department is comprised of both clinical and tenure track nursing faculty with specialty areas that include community, gerontology, psychiatric/mental health, and adult/gerontological nurse practitioners. We are seeking applicants eligible for tenure at the Associate Professor or Professor level.

The School of Nursing is NLNAC and CCNE accredited. It is composed of three departments: Adult Health, Parent-Child, and Community Practice. The University is a Carnegie Doctoral/Research-Intensive University with over 18,000 students. The School of Nursing has over 1,400 students in BSN, RN-BSN, MSN and PhD programs. MSN concentrations include Nursing Administration, MSN/MBA, Nursing Education, ANP, GNP, and Nurse Anesthesia. Please visit our web site at www.uncg.edu/nur/.

Greensboro is located midway between Atlanta and Washington, D.C. and is only a few hours from the Atlantic coast and the Blue Ridge Parkway in the mountains. Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have undergraduate and graduate teaching experience, and scholarship appropriate to the desired rank. Previous administrative experience and familiarity with community, gerontology, and psychiatric nursing and Nurse Practitioner programs for Adult/Gerontological Nursing are desirable. Candidates must hold a master’s degree in nursing and a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field. A doctoral degree in nursing is preferred. Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina is required.
