Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership

The Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations (ELC) in the School of Education (SOE) at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) is seeking applicants who recognize the complex, dynamic, and challenging nature of contemporary school leadership for a non-tenure track, Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership.

The ELC Department offers Master’s, Ed.S., Ed.D., and Ph.D. degrees in the intersecting areas of educational leadership and cultural studies. We are committed to the values of equity and social justice, democratic participation, compassion, and educational quality in schools and throughout the public realm. We are interested in attracting candidates who add to the diversity of the Department in terms of race, gender, culture, perspective, academic specialty, and inquiry methods. We offer on-campus programming as well as alternative course delivery, including web-based instruction, distance education, and cohort programs.

We are seeking an experienced scholar-practitioner to teach face-to-face, blended, and online graduate courses in educational leadership and school administration as they relate to BK-12 schools and school districts. The person appointed to this non-tenure track, clinical position will coordinate school-and district-based internships; create connections and partnerships between ELC and practitioners, agencies, and communities served by the Department; assist in data collection and report writing for program assessment and accreditation; serve on program committees within the Department and School of Education; and work with other faculty to support, assess, and prepare students during their preparation for and induction into administrative practice. Applicants should present evidence of involvement in community work; commitment to social justice issues; participation in professional service organizations; and significant experience and skill in data analysis, strategic planning, change management, and conflict negotiation. While clinical faculty appointments do not require research productivity, clinical faculty are expected to continue their professional development as scholars. We are seeking a candidate who is committed to working collaboratively with others and with school and district constituents.

A doctoral degree in educational leadership and administration

Successful public school leadership experience at the school level

A functional knowledge of current educational leadership standards

Qualifications Preferences

Successful leadership experience at the district level

A demonstrated commitment to the use of technology for instructional and administrative purposes
