Assistant or Associate Professor
Synthetic Organic/Medicinal Chemistry

Candidates with research interests in organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry will be given special consideration. Very competitive startup packages commensurate with qualifications are available.

The department (http://www.uncg.edu/che/) has 14 full time faculty and features an extremely supportive and collegial environment. It offers the BA, BS (with 3 tracks) and MS degrees in biochemistry and a new innovative Ph.D. program in Medicinal Biochemistry. The departmental students are unusually diverse. The department has recently moved into a 170,000 square foot, $35 million state of the art building. Excellent equipment and instrumentation are available.

Qualifications:
Applicants should have a commitment to enhancing the department’s reputation for excellent graduate and undergraduate teaching and for appointments at the associate level, a demonstrated record of funded research. Candidates will be expected to contribute to our present strength in research with undergraduate, Masters’ and doctoral level students.
